10-12 Months

pin   10 to 12 Months

As stated during the last 3 month period, your baby’s sense of his own existence will continue to deepen. Your baby will be no longer be just drifting in a sea of emotions, such as hunger and sleepiness, but he will begin to notice that he is an individual with his own hands and feet and is a separate person from his parents and the other people around him.

Even if your baby is unable to say “no,” he may shake his head to convey the meaning. This happens because normally listening comprehension is more developed than speaking ability. Furthermore, during this time, your baby will start to enjoy music and rhythm. Therefore, it is recommended that you let your baby listen to a lot of songs that are aimed for young children.

Using pictures of the items that your baby sees regularly to teach him those words is an excellent way to help him build his vocabulary. Remember that just because your baby cannot say the words, this doesn’t mean that he cannot learn to understand them. You could, for example, observe if your baby looks at the correct object when the word is said.

Milestones: 10-12 Months
